Bear on UMass Amherst campus tranquilized

AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Now to a developing story! Officials responded to a bear on the campus of UMass Amherst late Wednesday morning.
They have since relocated the bear to be released in a safe location.
While on campus, a Western Mass News crew watched as authorities tranquilized the bear, and put it in the back of a truck to be released.
We’re told that the bear will be unconscious for three hours.
The fire department has put bags of ice around the bear to cool it off, and it will then be released into the wild.
This all started Wednesday around 11:00 a.m. when Massachusetts Environmental Police and UMass Amherst officers responded to reports of the bear on campus.
