SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Mamou Restaurant in Springfield reopened Thursday after the city lost beloved chef and restauranteur Wayne Hooker on Tuesday.

The Cajun restaurant opened at 11 a.m. and on Facebook, the business posted that it’s a difficult time, but they’re keeping the “good times rolling” as Hooker would’ve wanted.

The Mamou Restaurant family hopes patrons can enjoy some good food and drink while celebrating Hooker whom they said will be “forever missed.”

If you’re looking to swing by, they are slated to close at 9 p.m.
