Travelers share concern following BermudAir’s departure from Bradley

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT (WGGB/WSHM) - An alarming trend flying out of Windsor Locks, Connecticut. A third airline in two months has announced they will be pulling their services from Bradley International Airport. The departures now coming in threes, first Spirit Airlines, then Avelo following suit, now BermudAir announced they are pulling its services from the airport.
The airline started the flights from Windsor Locks to Bermuda just six months ago, offering twice weekly non-stop flights to L.F. Wayne International Airport since launching the route. According to the Connecticut Airport Authority, BermudAir elected to suspend its services due to a shift in their network strategy.
while the three airline departures are completely unrelated, passengers are still concerned, travelers shared with us this trend looks like out of the airport, “It would make me wonder why and what the cause is of it, which could be that it’s financial, maybe it’s economical, I’m not for sure, but I know where I fly out of in Chattanooga, which is a small town, we’re adding airlines,” said Mike Maxey, one of the travelers out of Bradley.
Bradley responded to those concerns with a statement that reads, “With its low operating costs and robust market, Bradley International Airport offers substantial opportunities to current and potential airlines, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to growing the airport’s route network with destinations important to our community.”
We did reach out to BermudAir for statement on the matter, but we have not yet heard back.
