(WGGB/WSHM) - With the World Cup kicking off, there’s been a lot of talk about the high cost of tickets. But that’s not the only ‘sticker-shock’ you should be prepared for — especially if you’re driving to see a game.

we’ve all heard by now about those steep ticket prices. if you’re planning to see any matches at Gillette Stadium, called Boston Stadium during the 2026 FIFA World Cup — be prepared.

The average price of admission is about $400, with premium seating going for more than $10,000. But of course, that’s not the end of it. You have to get there in the first place — and if you’re coming from western Mass., public transportation like buses and trains aren’t an option. So that means, more than likely, you’ll be driving — and that also means you’ll be needing a parking spot.

But don’t show up ‘day of’ with your game ticket and expect to pull right in, because just like the match, you also need a ticket to park. All parking passes must be pre-purchased for $175.

Don’t think about waiting to cough up that cash at the last minute either, because that price will increase 24 hours before match time. Now you might be thinking, ‘fine, I’ll just have someone drop me off.’

Nope: drop-offs and pick-ups by private cars are not permitted around the stadium.

There are bus and train options available to you, if you’re willing to drive to Boston first and then take public transportation back to Foxborough — and then reverse it to get back home.

But for those here in western Mass. Not looking to spend the entire day or longer traveling — get ready pay up to sit down in the stadium for the FIFA World Cup.
