$1.25M going to Mass. communities to address opioid crisis

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Healey-Driscoll Administration is sending $1.25 million in new state opioid settlement grants to communities hit hardest by overdoses.
Eighteen municipalities and community groups will get one-year grants worth $5,000 to $150 thousand for prevention, treatment and support services.
Awardees range from big-city agencies like the Boston Public Health Commission to local rural organizations such as the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission, Franklin Region Council of Government and towns including Ware.
