Annual veteran graves restoration even held in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - In order to honor fallen veterans, those in Holyoke gathered together to take care of their final place of rest.
Volunteers joined an annual graves restoration event on Saturday morning at the Calvary Cemetery just off of Hampden Street. No toxic chemicals were used as markers were preserved and restored for future generations.
The aim is to keep the graves presentable for the vets. The veteran’s grave officer Gene Theroux said he was happy to see the community step up.
