Balise Collision donates car to man in need

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A single father of three has just been given a fully refurbished car, courtesy of Balise Collision Repair of Springfield and GEICO.
Quentin Stallworth-Noiles is the recipient of the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program, which brings members of the collision repair industry together to repair and donate cars to those in need of reliable transportation.
Quentin and his 3 daughters are getting back on their feet, after facing several challenges. His mother fell ill and needed a live-in aide, which left no room for them in the shared home. The family spent 5 months on the shelter waiting list which cost Quentin his job.
We spoke to the General Manager at Balise Collision, Seth Meurer, who told us what went into refurbishing the family’s new car, “Jeb Belize and all the folks here really pride themselves on giving back. for us, the technicians, we’re happy to donate their time. If you want to talk about man hours, probably about 50 to 60 hours between the technicians that worked on the vehicle, the painters that painted it, and all the stuff that we had to do as far as procuring the parts and all that good stuff. So, a full week’s worth of man hours probably went into getting the car repaired.”
Quentin has made a lot of progress in the last few months. In October, he moved into a shelter with his 3 girls — who’ve been enrolled in local schools and childcare. He’s also started a new job, and has expressed interest in returning to school to pursue a degree in business management.
