Basketball Hall of Fame announces 2026 inductees

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - On Saturday, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced nine inductees into their Class of 2026.
Former Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers was among the list of the inductees. He led the Celtics to two NBA Finals appearances and won the championship in 2008. Rivers recently became the sixth NBA coach with an all time win record.
Southwick native Rebecca Lobo and the rest of the 1996 U.S. women’s national team was also inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Together, they finished the 1996 Summer Olympics with an undefeated record with an average margin of victory of more than 30 points.
