Big Brother Casting Call Draws Hundreds to Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -Hundreds of people lined up at MGM Springfield on Tuesday for a chance to appear on the CBS reality show “Big Brother.”
The casting call drew participants from across the country, including Amy McGee, who flew more than 2,000 miles from St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.
“I flew in at midnight last night,” McGee said.
McGee said she booked her flight and hotel as soon as she saw the casting call announced on social media.
“I’ve been a fan since the first season and I feel like it’s always been my destiny to be on the show, so I’m not going to give up until I make it,” she said.
MGM officials said the event was a major win for the city and an opportunity to shine a spotlight on downtown Springfield.
Auditions ran all afternoon. No word yet on when locals will find out if they made the cut.
