Bradley Airport reacts to Spirit Airlines going out of business

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WGGB/WSHM) - After over three decades of providing a low cost way to travel the skies, Spirit Airlines announced on Saturday that they were halting operations immediately after months of budget concerns.
Even though Spirit Airlines departed from Bradley International Airport last year, the company had left a presence on the airport for several years.
Western Mass News spoke with the Connecticut Airport Authority as the shockwave made its way across the travel industry, releasing a statement that reads, “Spirit Airlines was an integral part of Bradley International Airport’s airline network for over eight years. When Spirit left BDL last year, they were offering routes that overlapped with other carriers, so there was minimal impact to passengers.”
