Bus driver involved in deadly crash that killed Greenfield family pleads not guilty to manslaughter

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (WGGB/WSHM) - The bus driver facing manslaughter charges in connection with a deadly crash on I-95 in Virginia that killed 5 Massachusetts residents, pleaded not guilty to multiple involuntary manslaughter charges on Friday, July 2nd.

On May 29th, the Doncev family from Greenfield and Priscilla Mafalda of Worcester died after a bus failed to slow down for a work zone, which caused a chain-reaction crash.

That bus driver, Jing Dong of Staten Island, N.Y., was arraigned in Stafford County circuit. According to court documents, Dong pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of involuntary manslaughter, and one count of reckless driving. He’s expected back in court in August.
