Candlelight vigil opens annual Italian Feast Weekend in Springfield’s South End

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Feast began with the candlelight vigil procession.

The vigil began with a blessing from Father Robert White of Mount Carmel, and the rosary led in both English and Italian by Father Paolo Bagattini.

Afterward, worshippers will followed the Statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in a candlelight processional.

Organizers said they vigil serves as a spiritual opening to the annual feast.
