Chicopee hosts ceremony for new affordable housing units

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Chicopee is marking a major milestone in the transformation of its River Mills District with a topping off ceremony for what will be the city’s tallest residential building.
City officials and developers gathered Tuesday morning at the Western Buildings site on West Main Street where Singing Bridge Residences is rising on the former Facemate property along the Chicopee River.
The four-acre project will bring 105 mixed-income affordable units from studios to three-bedrooms.
