Child hit by Amtrak train in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Around 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening, officials responded to a report of a 3-year-old child was hit by a train nearby Emily Street.
Springfield Fire Department spokesperson Drew Piemonte shared the information with Western Mass News confirming that the child was hit and sent to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Western Mass News also reached out to the Springfield Police Department for more details, but we are yet to hear back.
