Clarksburg voters approve all town meeting warrant articles

CLARKSBURG — Voters passed all articles at Wednesday night's annual town meeting, but amended the requests of two articles.
Town Clerk Amber Holland said 32 of the town’s 1,124 registered active voters attended the meeting, or 2.8 percent.
Voters inside Clarksburg Elementary School approved the recommended $5.5 million budget, up 3 percent over the current year, but made amendments to two articles.
An amendment to increase the Public Works and Recreation line by $10,000 was unanimously passed to accommodate increased fuel costs, making the line total $549,354.
Another article using free cash to purchase a Ford F-600 Super Duty was amended to increase the appropriation so the town could purchase a 2027 model instead of a 2026 model. The amendment and revised article passed unanimously.
Two school improvement articles requiring a two-thirds majority passed unanimously. One will transfer $19,500 from the Clarksburg school stabilization account to replace a concrete pad at the elementary school entrance; the other will use $70,000 from the account to fund ADA-compliant upgrades to the elementary school bathrooms.
The town also passed articles amending two ordinances; one changing the “Town Meeting and Elections” ordinance that adds language that the Select Board may vote to change the date of annual town meeting in any given year at its discretion; and another amending the town’s “Kennel License” ordinance so that another town official designated by the town administrator besides the Board of Health can perform inspections before the town clerk issues the license.
