Community runs for 24 hours to honor Easthampton man

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Members of the Easthampton community participated in a 24-hour running event on Sunday and Monday to honor an athlete’s father.
Caleb Rodriguez, father of Easthampton athlete Alex Rodriguez, recently died unexpectedly.
To honor his life, the Easthampton High School track & field team invited participants to come to the Mountain View School to run, walk, and jog over the course of 24 hours starting at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Runners participated for as long or as little as they could. All donations collected during the event went directly to the Rodriguez family. Over $9,500 was raised as of 1 p.m.
