SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The Massachusetts Building Trades Unions, which represents thousands of construction workers across the state held its annual convention at MGM Springfield on Wednesday.

Governor Maura Healey and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno joined the MBTU as it discussed the benefits of Project Labor Agreements.

Those help projects stay on time and on budget while also giving unionized construction workers living wages, benefits, and apprenticeship opportunities aimed at benefiting under-served communities.

But as Governor Healey mentioned, these building trades also help the entire state.
