PALMER, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Around 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, a driver had driven off the road on the intersection of Sykes street and Bourne Street, eventually crashing into a utility pole and a tree.

The crash had managed to snap the utility pole in half, leaving wires in the road as well as closing the road for several hours. The road was eventually reopened as of Sunday morning.

Two people that were in the car were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle has been charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
