Crews battle house fire in Sixteen Acres, five displaced

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Before 11 p.m. on Friday, May 29th, the Springfield Fire Department was once again called to action to battle a house fire in Sixteen Acres.
Emergency crews were sent to 483 Forest Hills Road for a report of the fire. Upon arriving, crews spotted the fire coming from the garage of the home. Firefighters worked for an hour to put the blaze under control.
Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad determined that the cause of the fire was due to an electrical malfunction from within the garage. Five people have been displaced as a result of the fire and are currently being assisted by family.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire, and there are no further details at this time.
