SOUTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 14th, the Southampton Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire on Brickyard Road.

When they arrived, crews spotted the flames coming from the one of the rear walls outside, spreading over to the roof of the home. The fire had eventually made it’s way inside behind the walls of a room on the second floor.

Crews eventually managed to get the fire under control without any injuries. The cause of the fire was determined to be due to improper disposal of a cigarette.

There were no injuries in response to the fire.
