SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A disabled SUV blocking the exit of Skala School led South Hadley Police to a drug arrest. Officers said they responded on Saturday, May 2nd after a citizen reported the unattended vehicle on Granby Road.

When they looked inside, they saw items used to ingest and package powder and crack cocaine.

A man then walked up carrying a gas can and first claimed he was just the passenger and his girlfriend had left. Officers report finding suspected heroin, crack cocaine, a crack pipe, and drug packaging after searching the man and the car.

Police said he eventually admitted he’d been driving and that the drugs were his. He’s now facing subsequent-offense charges for possession of heroin or fentanyl and cocaine or crack cocaine.
