WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Agawam Brownies felt the sting of a loss on Saturday. The softball team played East Longmeadow that afternoon following a legal battle for the Western Mass championship. The judge decided that they could play their final game after a clerical error setback.

Western Mass News spoke with Agawam Head Coach Kathy Georgina about the conflict, “it was definitely a rollercoaster of a week, but we all had faith the entire week that our administration would fix their wrong and they did. They worked countless hours, nights, sleepless nights, they did whatever they could for our kids, and they made sure we could play.”

Despite their best efforts, the Brownies just couldn’t make it — they lost 9 to 4 against East Longmeadow at Westfield State University.
