SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Just steps away from Boston Stadium, a beer garden in the Lot 20 parking lot is where fans have been spending their time prior to games, but it has less to do with soccer than one might think.

A growing trend in the United States, pickleball has captured the hearts of every generation.

Jodi Culliti wanted to capitalize on the hype by founding “Eleveno,” a place where anyone can learn and play the sport and grab a bite to eat while they’re visiting.

“Trying to get people to eat and then burn it off in the court,” she said.

Now that FIFA has a pitstop in Boston, Culliti wanted to curate a beer garden for soccer fans to hang out before the games while also promoting their brand.

“We’ve seen so many different nationalities, cultures and more celebrating over sport and food and drinks,” she said. “More importantly we have cornhole games and community ... Pickleball is all about spreading community through music, shared food, and sport.”

Eleveno is not only new to the international visitors, but to Foxborough as well. It just opened back in December.

Americans and foreigners alike can experience pickleball with a side of bars, food, and dancing.

There’s only one more game set to be played in Foxborough, a quarterfinal on July 9, so Culliti is soaking up every second of it.

“FIFA leaving us which we’re sad about but we’re gonna cheer everyone on in the quarterfinal in the next match,” she said.

Eleveno is open seven days a week and all are welcome whether you’re there to watch a soccer game or to just enjoy the party.
