Emergency crews rush to battle house fire in Westfield

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Before 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 16th, the Westfield Fire Department were sent to 5 Pontoosic Road for a report of a fire after a neighbor spotted smoke coming from the home.
When crews arrived, firefighters discovered that the flames were coming from the fireplace from within the home. At the time, the fireplace was being worked on by a contractor working at the home.
The fire was put out quickly and without any injures.
