Family asks for help after Sunday’s devastating fire

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A house fire in Springfield late Sunday night knocked 16 people out of their homes, but one family was hit harder than the others.
On Wednesday, we heard their pleas for your help. Western Mass News has the reaction from that family who learns, they’ll no longer have a place to live.
What’s here is just one picture of what this family of 6, including four kids, dealt with Sunday night. They’re now left picking up what’s remaining of their home, including the loss of their puppy.
The Red Cross’ assistance not enough for the family, they’re now bearing the rest of this cold winter homeless.
This after their home was engulfed in flames Sunday night, as temperatures got into the single digits. Because of the weather conditions, the fire department’s response was delayed.
We spoke with residents of the apartment. Who now face the reality of starting from scratch, one of the owners of the home posting a GoFundMe asking for your help, saying “I wanted to share something deeply important to me. Our family recently lost everything in a devastating fire caused by neighbors’ reckless actions. We’re struggling to rebuild and are heartbroken over our missing puppy. Every little bit helps, and even sharing our story can make a difference. Please consider clicking the link below to donate or share this message. Thank you for your kindness during this tough time.’
