Fire crews battle apartment fire in downtown Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Crews in Springfield responded to a fire in an apartment building on Salem Street.
By the time our Western Mass News crews got to Salem Street around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, firefighters had mostly knocked down the flames.
There’s no word if anyone was displaced after the fire, but we do know that no one was hurt.
An investigation into the fire is now ongoing by the Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad.
