Fire crews make a daring rescue during house fire

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Pittsfield firefighters rescued a woman from a burning house fire.
Around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, engines arrived at 7 Virginia Avenue to find flames coming from the home. Firefighters quickly entered the building and found a woman on the first floor.
She was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Even though the fire was brought under control in less than 30 minutes, the home sustained severe fire and water damage.
The woman’s condition remains unknown at this time, but we do know one firefighter suffered a minor wrist sprain.
