Fire crews rescue driver from river

MONSON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Around 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, the Monson Fire Department responded to the area of Lakeshore Drive where they found person on top of their car in a river.
As pictured by the Monson Fire Department, the car was found on its side at the bottom of a steep slope. The driver was able to be pulled to safety.
Crews were able to lift the car out of the ditch and reopen the road in an hour.
The incident remains under investigation.
