Fire crews rush to put out garage fire
WESTFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - On Saturday, the Westfield Fire Department were sent out for reports of a garage fire.
Upon arrival, crews quickly located the fire within the garage and put it out without any injuries. All people and animals living within the home were safely out of the home when crews arrived.
After investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be due to improper disposal of smoking materials. The Westfield Fire Department went on to remind people to never toss a cigarette before making sure it is completely out and to dispose of them in a nonflammable container.
The location of the fire was not disclosed. There are no further details at this time.
