Foundation for TJO Animals to hold 24-hour Day of Compassion

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Foundation for TJO Animals is holding a 24-hour Day of Compassion event this week, featuring an online giving campaign and a community pet food drive to benefit the Reese Fund.
The Reese Fund was named after a dog who was rescued after enduring being severely abused and neglected. Despite medical care, he died from his injuries.
This fund provides emergency medical and recovery care for animals who have experienced this kind of mistreatment.
On Wednesday, the foundation will hold an in-person Pet Food Drive from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center in Springfield.
The drive will also support the Reese Pet Food Initiative, providing food and supplies to families who may need a little extra support.
