GoFresh Mobile Market celebrates 15 years serving Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Springfield Technical Community College celebrated 15 years of a mobile farmers market that’s helping fight hunger in the city.
The GoFresh Mobile Market regularly brings fruits and vegetables around Springfield where people can use hip coupons, food stamps, and senior coupons to help acquire produce easily.
On Wednesday evening, The college’s center for access services hosted a celebration dinner to honor the GoFresh Mobile Market, along with partners like Wellspring Harvest, for their work expanding access to fresh produce and promoting food equity across Springfield.
“We wanted to recognize sponsors and vendors for the work that we do for the community, and to let people know exactly what the mobile market does. there is always a better way to eat, and it’s not impossible. You just have to find out what resources are out in the community,” said Lesenia Fields, a co-director of GoFresh Mobile Market.
Organizers said there is currently one van in service, but they are looking to get back to using two. If you want to get involved, you can head to the GoFresh website.
