CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - If you’re still looking for an affordable prom dress, you’re in luck. That’s because Goodwill in Chicopee recently got an abundance of prom dress donations. Shopping for your prom can be extremely expensive, but it doesn’t have to be.

“We’re a place where individuals can come in and find items, uh, you know, for a lower cost,” Emerald Gottwald is the Senior Director of Retail Stores at Goodwill. She said you can save your money, and lots of it, especially when it comes to your prom dress, “that’s what we’re here for, to serve those that are in our neighborhoods and our communities. So, having that product for them at those prices, I mean, just really goes hand in hand with, you know, everything that we stand for.”

But it doesn’t stop at your prom dress, you can find all your prom accessories like a bag or shoes for an affordable price, “I mean, that’s kind of, you know, prom leads into spring, summer, and that’s when we see a huge, uh, boost in our, our foot traffic in our stores and also a huge boost in our donations as well.”

Gottwald also said right now is a perfect time for you to stop by because their stores are filled with dresses, shoes, and everything in between, “You can spend more money on your hair or your nails if you want to, um, in that, in that aspect.”

You no longer have to pick up an extra shift at work to pay for your prom needs, you can get everything you need for a fraction of the cost.
