Gov. Healey honors late UMass Amherst student at fishing festival

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - On Saturday morning, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey attended a family fishing clinic at Hampton Ponds State Park.
This years event was special, celebrating the life of the late University of Massachusetts student Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, who was killed in a shooting in Washington, D.C. last year.
Tarpinian-Jachym was known to be an enthusiast for fishing, both in fresh water and in the open seas. The event aimed to carry on Eric’s legacy and help people of all ages connect with nature.
