HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - June is coming to a close, but pride month is still in full swing in Holyoke. The city held its annual Pridefest Saturday afternoon at Veterans Park with Joslyn Fox headlining the festival. The drag performer is from Worcester and is most known for competing on the sixth season of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race.’

The event included other performers, activists and artists from across western Massachusetts. Attendees said the festival really brought the community together.

“I think for me anytime I’m at pride it really is watching the performers on stage, i think it just brings such a beautiful moment not only to see the craft that they’re displaying for everyone out in the community, but then to also see our community together especially right now when the world can feel a little bit grim at points,” said Joey Pisani, “to see all of us come together kind of as one big family, and just enjoy ourselves and live in joy i think is a really beautiful thing.”

This Pridefest was the fifth of its kind in the city.
