Holyoke Police announce series of drug arrests

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Several drug arrests were made by the Holyoke Police Department throughout the past week.
Officers carried out patrols and property checks recovered more than 400 vials of crack-cocaine, bags of heroin/fentanyl, and 11 bags of powder cocaine.
It started last Friday evening on Franklin Street, when 47-year-old Jose Nieves Rijos was found with hundreds of vials of crack cocaine and around 40 bags of heroin and fentanyl.
Then on Wednesday morning, officials arrested 41-year-old Juan Alejandro Perez and 49-year-old Edwin Santos, who had an arrest warrant for parole violation in sheard park after suspecting them of selling drugs. 30 vials of crack cocaine and 10 bags of heroin and fentanyl were recovered there.
Also on early Wednesday morning, a property check on elm street resulted in the discovery of nearly 200 vials and dozens of bags of drugs.
When officers returned this morning, a group of people scattered, leaving behind even more drugs. Police didn’t name anyone arrested in connection.
