Hy's Fried is closing in South Egremont, with sights set on Boston area

SOUTH EGREMONT — Hy's Fried in South Egremont is closing, the business announced Wednesday on its Instagram page.
The owners said on social media they have decided to "sell the property/business" at 264 Hillsdale Road, and thanked customers across Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut for "making this such a wildly successful and flavorful journey."
The post also said they are exploring a "seasonal opportunity" in the local area.
"This is not goodbye… It is just so long for now!" the post said.
The gluten-free fried chicken spot, known for its cheffy take on fast food and its weekly dance nights, opened at the site of the former Old Egremont Club.
The post said the owners also plan to bring "the IP and concept into Boston and surrounding New England cities in the months to come," and called South Egremont "an outstanding testing ground."
No one answered a call to the restaurant Wednesday.
