SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - On Saturday morning, one of the more noted names of the Ironman 70.3 Western Massachusetts was honored at the Ironman Village at the MassMutual Center.

Tom DeLuca of Agawam was the man of honor during the celebration for completing 50 races this coming Sunday. At 71-years-old, he shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

DeLuca stated that he first got into the sport back in 1991 watching the Ironman Triathlon World Championship on television. Since his first Ironman race in 1994, he’s participated in several other triathlons, including the Ironman in Lake Placid, N.Y.
