LANESBOROUGH — The Select Board chair and town administrator are negotiating with the Berkshire Mall owner on a plan to dissolve the Baker Hill Road District.

Berkshire Mall owner JMJ RE Holdings has made two offers to loan the town money — though under the current proposal, town officials say the payment would not be structured as a loan — to replace lost tax revenue, on the condition that the town dissolve the district.
