Large tree falls on Hampden County home

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Structural damage was reported after a large tree fell on a home in Monson Tuesday afternoon.
Monson fire and police responded to the home at Country Club Heights around 4:30 p.m. They said windy conditions caused a large oak tree to fall and pierce holes in the roof of the home.
A local tree service removed the tree and members of the fire department later returned to patch up the holes.
Fire crews cleared the scene just before 8 p.m.
