SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - With the temperatures getting hotter, now is the time to make sure your cooling systems are working and call for help if not.

One A/C company is pushing the limits to keep up.

“We’ve moved up all of our demand calls, so people who don’t have A/C, we jump right on it,” said Mike Ward, general manager of HD Air.

In other words, those at HD Air are working full throttle. As the week-long heat wave continues, the company’s 75 employees and 50 trucks are working to keep you safe and cool.

Right now, the company is pushing about 60 calls a day and Ward says there will be plenty more.

“We have full truck stock,” he said. “We’re there to help, and we’re there to prevent ... We can fix it right on the spot. And the great thing is if we have other people in our company who need something, they can get run out to the same day.”

Across the pioneer valley, window A/C units are working overtime. Right now, they are the difference between comfort and danger.

However, Ward says there is something you should watch out for.

“If the unit is pushing ten years, we recommend replacement, and we have great financing here at HD Air that we can accommodate our clients for,” he said.

If the heat triggers a power outage, HD Air has plumbers and electricians on standby to help with other issues. There will also be staff on standby during the holiday weekend.

With a high volume of calls expected, Wards asks you to keep your cool.

“We’re doing the best we can under the circumstances, and we care about our clients and our customers,” he said. “We also care about our employees, so we just want everyone to stay safe, and we want to get you cool.”

While you are waiting for help, Ward advises you to keep your windows open for proper air flow and stay hydrated.

If you need assistance, you can visit the HD Air website or call (413) 414-4777.
