SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A longtime staple re-opened in Springfield on Wednesday, under a brand-new name.

Community favorite Frankie and Johnnie’s Pizza returned at its original location on Island Pond Road, now known as Antonio’s Pizza Group. The pizza restaurant has operated for more than 50 years in the City of Firsts, giving customers access to delicious grinders, pizza, pasta, and more.

Western Mass News spoke with the owner, who said it’s about the service as much as the food, “meeting new people. Being involved in the community. They did a great job with that. I can see the pouring support from the local families. To me, it’s always about good product, good people. Trying to give the best service we possibly can. So, I’m excited about meeting people,” said Walter Pacheco, the owner of Antonio’s Pizza Group.

Pacheco said although the restaurant’s name is rebranded, the classics on the menu will still be there.
