LUDLOW, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A Ludlow man is facing charges for allegedly threatening the father of a victim in an ongoing federal sex trafficking case against his grandson.

Officials said 72-year-old Christopher Barbaro’s grandson was charged in May 2025. The victim and their dad were interviewed during the investigation in the fall of 2024.

In November, Barbaro sent the father a text which read, “You and your kid are a couple of (EXPLETIVE) rats (RAT EMOJI) and you know what happens to rats they choke on cheese you no good (EXPLETIVE) I know what you guys did.”

He also made similar calls and left voicemails in the following months. Then, last month, Barbaro told investigators this, and he faced a judge in Boston last Friday. He’s since been released on unspecified conditions.
