Make-a-Wish foundation hosts annual Swish Night

LONGMEADOW, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island is back again making local children with critical illnesses’ wishes come true. Saturday marked the 13th annual Swish Night, raising funds to be able to grant the wishes of 80 eligible children right here in western Mass.
Hosted by Mike “Bax” Baxendale from Rock 102, the evening featured championship college basketball, and a brief program between games to highlight the organization’s mission of granting life-changing wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
“Well, I’ve done stuff with Make-A-Wish many, many years ago, and it’s great to be back with them. It’s a great organization. It does wonderful things for families, and it’s a real honor to be back and doing stuff with them again,”
Max Conway from East Longmeadow is back another year and told us all about his wish come true, “It’s really important being able to come out here and just remember what happened last year, getting my wish granted.”
The event ran Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Longmeadow Country Club with Western Mass News as a proud media partner.
