ENFIELD, CT (WGGB/WSHM) - Around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, the Enfield Police Department responded to a report of an assault at 83 Pearl Street.

Upon arriving to the scene, police officers spotted a woman who reported she was beaten by her former boyfriend. Paramedics were sent to the scene and took the woman to a nearby hospital to be treated for her injuries.

After the investigation, 30-year-old Irell Smith was charged with a slew of charges and is being held on a $1 million dollar bond.
