Man in his 20s drowns in Connecticut River

TURNERS FALLS, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A man in his 20s drowned in Turners Falls following a large, multi-agency response to the Connecticut River Saturday.
Turners Falls fire said the victim was with a large group of people swimming in an area called Rock Dam on Migratory Way when police were called around 6 p.m.
The Greenfield Fire Department, the Gill Police Department, the Montague Police Department, the Franklin County Sheriff’s office and multiple others responded to the scene.
The drowning is not considered suspicious at this time. The man’s identity is expected to be released following an investigation.
