SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A new report ranks Massachusetts as having the best state economy in the country for the second year in a row.

The study by Wallet Hub says it’s thanks to big investments in research and high-tech jobs.

Officials say the Bay State has the highest share of jobs in high-tech industries and one of the top shares of STEM professionals.

Massachusetts leads in sectors like healthcare, life sciences, climate tech, advanced manufacturing, robotics, and AI, drawing investment and jobs from major companies.

Gov. Healey shared a statement today celebrating the state’s accomplishments while recognizing areas for growth.

“We know that our residents and businesses are facing challenges, and there is more to do,” she said. “We’re working every day to lower the cost of housing, energy and health care, support entrepreneurs and attract more employers”
