Massachusetts state trooper dead following motorcycle crash

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Massachusetts State Police have announced the unexpected death of a trooper following an off-duty motorcycle accident in Grafton.
Jacob Mick, 31, a Northboro native assigned to the Holden Barracks, died in the crash on Sunday.
Mick graduated from the Massachusetts State Police Academy with the 88th Recruit Training Troop in 2023, the same troop as Trooper Kevin Trainor who was killed in a wrong-way crash in Lynnfield last month.
Superintendent of the State Police, Colonel Geoffrey Noble shared his condolences to Mick’s wife and infant daughter saying “he was a proud Trooper and public servant who never hesitated to answer the call.”
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
