MassDOT closes Springfield bridge for emergency repairs

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Your commute along one busy Springfield roadway may have just gotten a little longer.
If you usually drive across the bridge on Saint James Avenue, over the abandoned rail line near Albany Street, you’re going to have to find a different way because the bridge is completely closed for some emergency repairs.
Officials expect the work to take a few days.
