SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Developing news out of Springfield where a car crashed into a tree during a police chase.

Here is a look at the scene on the intersection of Belmont Avenue and White Street around 5:45 p.m. on Friday night. You can see a lot of damage to the front of the car, smashing it in. We are working to get you answers on what exactly happened here cause while the chase ended in Springfield, we do know it started in Enfield, Conn.

Springfield, East Longmeadow, and Enfield Police cruisers were all on scene. The Enfield Police Department told Western Mass News an officer tried to pull the driver over for a traffic stop around 4 p.m. on Elm Street, but the suspect just kept driving.

What happened between then and what you see now has yet to be revealed, including if there are any injuries. We are still waiting to hear back from Springfield Police.
