New Ashford voters approve all items on annual warrant unanimously in just 30 minutes

NEW ASHFORD — Seventeen of the town’s 190 registered voters dispensed with the town’s business in just 30 minutes passing all items on the warrant unanimously.
According to Town Clerk Susan Supranowicz, voters approved an operating budget of $740,913 for fiscal 2027, representing an 11.4 percent increase. The budget includes the $372,162 school assessment for tuition for 14 students. That’s a 21.3 percent increase over the current school assessment. They supported raising and appropriating $90,325 for the municipal light plant and $8,500 to reimburse officer and appointees’ stipends, electricity, licenses and propane cost.

The town election will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall, 188 Mallery St. There are no contested elections.
